Murray Downs Farm has been in the same family for over four generations and is currently owned and operated by Sarah Rodie and her family. The farm operates across nearly 650ha as a pedigree breeding and finishing farm for Texel Sheep and Murray Grey Cattle. We also have Red Deer on site for venison.
Our Texel sheep are known for their exceptional meat quality and muscling. We breed and sell quality Texel sheep throughout New Zealand, with animals available for sale from Christchurch, Canterbury.
The Texel is a breed of domestic sheep originating from the island of Texel in the Netherlands. It is a heavily muscled breed, with great meat-producing qualities. Our stud animals are available for sale throughout the year.
