Welcome to Murray Downs Farm, a 650 hectare pedigree livestock breeding farm in Amberley, just outside Christchurch. Murray Downs has been a Texel Sheep and Murray Grey Cattle breeding farm since the early 1990s and we passionately believe in extensive, not intensive, farming practices. Our philosophy has always been to work as sustainably as possible to provide the best environment and living conditions for our livestock.
Owned and operated by the same family for over four generations we enjoy sharing the rich history of the local area with local and overseas visitors and we look forward to welcoming you to Murray Downs.
Texel Sheep are easy to care for, high-yield animals which make them the ideal stock for the meat and breeding industries. At Murray Downs Farm we have purebred pedigree Texel Sheep for sale and our experienced farmers can answer any questions you have about the breed and its advantages.
Murray Grey cattle are used in both beef and dairy farming systems because of their high quality meat and easy temperament. The beef cattle for sale at Murray Downs Farm are purebred bulls and cows that can be transported throughout New Zealand.
